The Clipico Card Stand makes it appear as if a paper clip is growing right out of a picture. Cut from a single sheet of metal, the positivie shape of the standing paper clip and the negative of the paper clip-shaped hole it left behind contrast nicely with one another.
With over 100 years of history, the familiar tool known as the paper clip is very useful for organizing papers or cards. When Aya designed this product, he thought that it might be amusing to see the familiar shape of a paper clip appear to be growing out of your desk. Plus, this gave it new functionality, allowing it to be used for decoration as well as organization.
