The Candlestick, designed by Peter Zumthor, is a candleholder made from a single block of turned cast aluminium. This manufacturing process is extremely important - it confers a sense of unity to the object, taking on the identity of a fully-fledged mechanic part, worked individually and matte brushed in the workshop.
