Originally, this clock "Chiisana Tokei" (a small clock) went on sale mainly for the gift market in 1970. At the time, its size and design was "something new" to the world of large clocks. Even though it gained popularity among architects and designers, it's production was suspended. Just recently has the clock been reissued and placed back into production.
