Vakio means "constant, standard" in the Finnish language. Vakio's innovative design concept is based on northern European industrial design with an orientation toward "visual beauty in a design you will treasure forever." Harri Koskinen is the designer of the famous Block Lamp, which is in the permanent collection at the Museum of Modern Art in NYC. He has been involved with numerous products as an industrial designer and is one of the hottest youngest designers in the world today. This is his first watch design.
Curved corner of the dial gives an elegant expression. Simple overall but eloquent in detail; typical of Scandinavian design.
Vakio is "photogenic" even seen from the back.
The case is constructed of two separate parts to give the wearer more comfort.
The box has also been designed by Harri Koskinen.
