The watches are characterized by an appearance of solidity, making a strong statement with their substantial, sculpture-like designs. While continuing the concept on a watch appearing to have been carved from a single piece of metal, the design has been further refined. Watches with rugged, mechanical, self winding movements are now available.
Mechanical movements developed by SII are used. Manual winding is also possible. Vibration resistant. Up to 50 hours on a single winding. Laser inscriptions commemorate the collaboration among Issey Miyake, the producer, Tokujin Yoshioka, the designer, and SII, the manufacturer.
The watches come with a stainless steel box, which also looks like it has been milled from a solid piece of metal. The box, in turn, comes enclosed in a black felt pouch.
Everywhere there is subtle attention to detail, from the case, to the sides of the case, to the back. The back of the case, too, is sapphire crystal. Bands, as well, reflect a complicated process traditionally associated with Japanese craftsmanship. The edge of each one is polished with wax.
A special two-hinged clasp is easily adjustable for length, simple to operate, and closes securely.
Includes 2 year limited warranty. Details in enclosed warranty booklet.
Watch features automatic movement (23 jewels). Can be wound automatically or manually and has a see-through case back.
