‘HU’ simply means human, a clear and pure statement embodied in a timepiece for Issey Miyake. In many ways it is a fusion between the incredible works of Issey, his constant invention, respect for materials and almost spiritual serenity in the way his clothes relate to the human form.
Hu's organic shape gently holds and fits onto your wrist. The dial has a slight slope to the right, which makes the dial naturally and easily viewable. The brand logo is placed in the 9 o'clock position. The natural shape fits onto the curves of your wrists. Smooth titanium surfaces, which are felt like a living thing filled with vitality, realize a completely new watch. The transition from the titanium case to silicone band are smoothly processed to achieve a natural flow.
The structure, consisting of an inner case and an outer case, realizes the uniquely designed human-friendly flowing outline. The watch and crown functions are concentrated in the inner case. The inner case comes off by pressing the glass top part from above to enable the crown operation. The spring-type inner case ensures the safety to put on or take off the watch with a clicking sound.
