“When I participated in a blind test last spring with a couple of colleagues, we were in no doubt that Eva Solo’s new Catalyzer has a positive effect on the wine. During the test, we judged the wines which were served as being 1-2 years older than they actually were,” says Rasmus Amdi Larsen, who has just won third place at the Danish Championships for Sommeliers 2011.
“The pourer consists of a number of magnetic fields which cause the wine to air faster when you pour. The result is a more rounded taste. There is no doubt that Catalyzer ages the wine faster,” says Rasmus, who works as a sommelier at Restaurant Oubæk in Copenhagen.
Catalyzer breaches the water barrier around the flavours, releasing them into and opening up the wine. Moreover, it releases the oxygen in the wine as you pour. In addition, the pourer ensures a gentle flow which protects the wine, maintaining its freshness, aroma and character.
“We wanted to create a new wine collection. Catalyzer has a refreshing and quirky angle. In addition to its fantastic pouring qualities, the design stands out. People are curious to try it and see what it can do,” says Henrik Holbæk, one of the two designers behind Tools Design, the firm responsible for a large number of award-winning successes for Eva Solo.
