The success of the extensive “CACTUS!” series and particularly the Fruit Holder, which was originally introduced in 2002 in two sizes (8" and 11") in mirrored stainless steel, merited new and different finishes and colours to show the object under new lights and with different effects. The two finishes, “Gold” and “Grey Metal”, are obtained via a galvanic bath that deposits pure gold in an opaque finish for the “Gold” version and nickel for the “Grey Metal” version. Both finishes are made more resistant with an opaque, invisible protective varnish.
